ENTRY IN THIS COMPETITION CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

Eligibility

SuperStarz Magazine Full Figured Model Competition is open to female legal US residents 15 years of age and older as of September 15, 2008. Entries from applicants under 18 years old must be accompanied by the signature of a legal guardian or parent. This competition is sponsored by SuperStarz Magazine.
 
Employees, board members, family members (defined as a spouse, child or sibling of entrant) and/or individuals related to SuperStarz Magazine are not eligible to participate or win.  Individuals directly involved in the development of the competition and the fulfillment of the competition are also not eligible to participate or win.
 
SuperStarz Magazine Full Figured Model Competition Requirements are set forth below: 

General Requirements

Size: Must be size 12 and up
Height requirement: There are no height requirements
Age:  Entrants must be at least 15 years of age as of October 1, 2008.

Models with agency contracts:  Models under contract with a modeling agency are not eligible to enter if participation or winning would conflict with the terms of such contract as determined by SuperStarz Magazine. Models that have performed services for other agencies are eligible to enter. Models that have made more than $25,000 in modeling fees in any one year are not eligible.

Contract Prizes

Three winners will be selected to include the following: One grand prize winner, one 2nd place winner and one 3rd place winner. Grand Prize winner receives (1) $1000 Cash, (2) designated the face of SuperStarz Magazine for its March 2009 online issue, (3) a three page spread in the March 2009 online issue of SuperStarz Magazine and (4) a free Portfolio listing on the SuperStarz Magazine Website for one year starting March 2009 to March 2010. Winners must agree to appear in the editorial pages of SuperStarz Magazine online at www.SuperStarzMagazine.com and participate in promotional activities as needed between March 2009 and March 2010. The 2nd place winner will receive (1) $300 Cash (2) A one page spread in SuperStarz Magazine’s February 2009 online issue and (3) A free Portfolio listing on the SuperStarz Magazine’s Website for one year starting February 2009 to February 2010. The 3rd place winner will receive (1) $100 Cash (2) A one page spread in SuperStarz Magazine’s March 2009 online issue and (3) A free Portfolio listing on the SuperStarz Magazine’s Website for one year starting March 2009 to March 2010. Total ARV of Grand Prize is approximately $1200 USD. Total ARV of 2nd place price is $400 USD and total ARV of 3rd place prize is $300 USD.
 
The prizes will be awarded to the finalists in their names ONLY, and are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. SuperStarz Magazine reserve the right to award the winners with a prize equal to or greater than the original offering if the original prize is not available. Taxes on cash prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner.

How To Enter

Mail In Entries: 

To enter by mail print and complete the online registration form, include two current photos (one headshot and one full body shot) and a money order for the $35 nonrefundable processing fee payable in US funds only. Entrants who would like to enter by mail may also pay online. If you pay online, print out your confirmation receipt of payment from paypal or XXX and include a copy with your mailed entry package.

No personal checks will be accepted.  All mail-in entries must be postmarked by the last day of the Entry Period and received no more than 7 business days after the close of the entry period.  

Online Entry:

To enter online, complete and submit the registration form and payment information. You will be asked to provide your first and last name, address (no post office boxes), telephone number, and email address. You may also be asked to answer additional questions.   Email two current photos (one headshot and one full body shot) along with your payment confirmation to FFMC@SuperStarzMagazine.com.  Email subject line should read: Model Competition Entry.  Print and keep a copy of your online payment confirmation.  All online entries must be received by 11:59 PM EST on the last day of the Entry Period.   Once you have submitted your entry you may not make any changes.  You may, however, submit additional entries if you wish. 

Photos

Photos for online entry should be in jpg file format, and mail-in entries can be snapshots or Polaroid and should be no smaller than 3”x5” and no larger than 8”x10”. No slides, transparencies or photocopies will be accepted. Print name, address, email address and telephone number on the back of all mail-in entries.  The photos should represent the entrant’s current appearance, personality, photogenic quality and vitality. They do not need to be professional photos.  Photos will not be returned.
 
Entries will be accepted beginning at 5pm EST on Monday September 15, 2008 and ends at 11:59 PM EST on Monday, December 15, 2008 (the "Entry Period"). You may enter the competition in either one of two ways discussed above.

For purposes of these Official Rules, "receipt" of an Online Entry occurs when SuperStarz Magazine servers record the entry information upon clicking the "Submit Entry" button. In the event of a dispute about the identity of an online entrant, each Online Entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. If the winning entry is an online entry, the potential winner may be required to provide Promotion Entities with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry.

The following applies to all methods of entry: YOU MAY ENTER MORE THAN ONCE.  A SEPARATE ENTRY FEE WILL APPLY TO EACH ENTRY AND A SEPARATE REGISTRATION AND PHOTOS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH ENTRY. The submission of an entry is the sole responsibility of the entrant. Entries are only accepted through the methods described above. Proof of sending (such as an automated computer receipt confirming delivery of email or post office receipt) does not constitute proof of actual receipt by SuperStarz Magazine of an entry for purposes of these Official Rules.
 
Only eligible entries actually received by SuperStarz Magazine before the end of the specified entry period will be included in the selection process. Illegible, unintelligible, or incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries and photos become the property of SuperStarz Magazine and none will be acknowledged or returned.
 
Conduct: By entering the Model Competition, entrants agree to comply with and be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will be posted at the SuperStarz Magazine web site (www.SuperStarzMagazine.com) throughout the Competition. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Competition. Entrants further agree to comply with and be bound by the decisions of the judges, which will be final and binding in all respects. SuperStarz Magazine reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process, the SuperStarz Magazine website or violating the Terms of Use and/or privacy policy of SuperStarz Magazine.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE MODEL COMPETITION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SUPERSTARZ MAGAZINE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Selection of Winner and Notification

At the end of the competition, the top 50 semifinalists will be selected by a panel of judges made up of the Executive Team of SuperStarz Magazine, from among all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries who meet the qualifications set forth by the official rules. Selections will be based on based on contestant’s appearance (33.3%), photogenic quality (33.3%) and vitality (33.3%) from photos submitted for the competition. Semifinalists will be notified by telephone and email. All semifinalists will be displayed on our website at (www.superstarzmagazine.com). The viewing public will vote online for the top ten (10) finalists.  The ten entrants who receive the most votes will be declared the finalists.

All ten (10) finalists will be notified by phone and email. The ten (10) finalists will be required to participate in a one-on-one phone interview with key individuals of SuperStarz Magazine and submit a written statement of 100 words or less on why they are a STAR.
 
Final judging will take place after the phone interview and review of the written statement by each finalist in January 2008. To select the winner of the Model Competition, the ten (10) model finalists will be judged based on the following:  essay writing skills (25%), originality (25%), Personality (25%) and Phone interview (25%). The Model Finalist with the highest score will be named the Grand prize winner and will be featured on the cover of SuperStarz’s Magazine, February 2009 online issue.  The model finalist with the 2nd highest score will be declared the 2nd place winner and the finalist with the 3rd highest score will be declared the 3r place winner. All decisions must and will be in compliance with the official rules.

Judges

The judges of the SuperStarz Magazine model competition will be editors of SuperStarz Magazine as well as other key executives of SuperStarz Magazine.   In the event of a tie, an additional judge will be brought in and competition finalists will be re-judged based on the criteria listed in the official rules.  25 semifinalists will be selected within 10 business days of the close of the competition date and will be notified via telephone, and email within 5 business days of the selection.

Internet voting for the top ten (10) finalists will begin January 15, 2009 and end on January 25, 2009.   Winning selections will be made on or before January 31, 2009.  Winners will be notified by phone, email, U.S mail and or overnight courier within 5 business days of the final selections.  Model Competition winners may be required to sign, notarize and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (except where prohibited by law) and provide any additional information (such as social security number) that may be required by Promotion Entities.  Winners must also sign a release allowing the use of their names and/or photographs in future promotions.  Tennessee prohibits conditioning receipt of a prize on obtaining a publicity release.  Except where prohibited by law, the finalist must return all such required documents within fourteen days following attempted notification or finalist’s position may be forfeited.  Entry into or winning this competition does not prohibit entries or winning future competitions sponsored by SuperStarz Magazine, however a single person in the same household may only win twice consecutively.

Winners must claim prize by returning the finalists notification.  Return of finalist notification as undeliverable, or inability of Promotion Entities to contact a finalist may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate finalist.  Prizes not claimed within 30 days of notification will be forfeited and new winners will be selected based on the competition rules.

General Conditions: This competition is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Eligible entries sent by email must be received by 11:59 EST on the close of the competition date, January 2, 2009.  Entries mailed must be postmarked by the competition close date and must be received within 7 days of the competition close date. 
All entries to the SuperStarz Magazine Model Competition are final.  NO refunds are available.

By entering the Competition, you agree to SuperStarz Magazine’s use of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy on our web site at www.SuperStarzMagazine.com. 

SuperStarz Magazine reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel or modify competition if it becomes corrupted technically due to non-authorized human intervention. If the model competition is cancelled, SuperStarz Magazine reserve the right to award prizes to eligible, non-suspect entries received before the action causing cancellation.
SuperStarz Magazine reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition in the event that the competition s is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.

Automated entry devices or other practices which impede the integrity of the competition are prohibited.
SuperStarz Magazine disclaim responsibility for entries that are corrupted or otherwise not received correctly or for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email, or on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in the competition.

Entrants agree that Competition Entities shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from: (i) acceptance/possession and/or use/misuse of prize(s), (ii) participation in the Competition, (iii) individual, joint or collective technical malfunctions of the telephone network and/or transmission line, computer on-line system, computer dating mechanism, computer equipment, hardware and/or software, or (iv) any delay or distortion of an Entry resulting from data transmissions that are garbled, incomplete, misdirected, lost, mutilated, delayed, corrupted, mechanically duplicated, illegible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules.  Entrants also agree that the Competition Entities are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer related to or resulting from the Competition and/or its prizes.   The Competition Entities are not liable for damage to a user's computer system (including, without limitation, any server failure or lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction) due, either directly or indirectly, to an entrant's participation in the Competition or downloading of information in connection with the Competition

Winners List: The names of the prize winners may be obtained at www.SuperStarzMagazine.com  on February 15, 2009 and no later than March 1, 2009 by visiting www.SuperStarzMagazine.com.  You may also request a list of winners by writing to: SuperStarz Magazine, Winners List, P.O Box 546, Washington, DC 20044.  You must include a self addressed stamped envelope. (Vermont residents may omit return postage).

The competition is void where prohibited by law and in the following states: CT, CO, VT, MD, ND, AZ and PR.
